497 '--.::::.~ COUNTY OF ELGIN 497 By-Law No SCHOOLS AND COLLEGIATE HIGH TO PROVIDE FOR GRANTS TO THE " THOMAS AND 4 INSTITUTES IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN AND CITY OF ST NO 491 AND TO REPEAL BY-LAWS AMEND BY-LAW NO TO Passed lOth June 1892 Tffá County Council of the County of Elgin enacts under the authority of the provisions of the High Schools Act of 1891. (1) Thä~ the Vienna and Dutton High Schools and Aylmer Collegiate Institute be granted for the year 1892 an amount equivalent to the cost of the maintenance of CÒunty and resident pupils attending said Schools during 1891 (2) That the St. Thomas Collegiate InstitutiLbe granted for the year 1892 an amount equivalent to the cost of maintenance of County pupils attending said School during 1891. (3) Thät the Secretary Treasurer of each School Board is required to furnish the Clerk of this County on or before the 15th July ,.a financial statement verified under oath showing the cost of the maintenance of all pupils who attended said school during 1891 together with a statement showing number of resident, non resident and county pupils who attended said school during said year, and that the Clerk prepare a statement there from for information of the County Treasurer showing amount to be paid to each of the said School Boards (4) Thät By-Law No. 491 passed in January 1892 be is hereby amended insofar as grants to said High Schools Collegiate Institutes are concerned, and that By-Laws 492 and 493 passed in June be and are hereby repealed. and and No. (5) That this By-Law go into effect and be in force only on condition that the Collegiate Institute Board of the City of St. Thomas notify the Clerk on or before the 15th day of July 1892. That the grant made in accordance with this By-Law is accepted in lieu of the amount ordered to be paid by the award of His Honor Judge Hughes in accordance with the provisions of Section 31, Subsection Section 3 of High Schools Act 1891, and that said award will be allowed to lapse ) (cont'd Council Chamber st. .
