COUNTY OF ELGIN 499 By-Law No TO RAISE AMOUNTS FOR COUNTY RATES DURING THE YEAR " 1892 Passed lOth June 1892 WHEREAS by Section 82 of Chapter 193 of the Revised Statutes of Ontario, the Council of a County in apportioning the current rate shall make the amount of property returned on the Assessment Rolls'as finally equalized for the pre- ceding year the basis upon which the apportionment is made AND WHEREAS by Sections 359 and 360 of Chapter 184 R.S.O. the Council of a County may pass By-Laws authorizing the levying and collecting of a rate etc AND WHEREAS an estimate has been made shewing that the sum of thirty-four thousand four hundred and five dollars is required to be raised in the several Municipalities for the lawful purposes of the County during the year 1892 AND WHEREAS notice has been received fron the Ed- ucation Department that the sum of three thousand one hun- dred and twenty-five dòllars being an equivalent to the Govern- ment Grant should be raised in the Township Municipalities in the County for Common Schools. Municipal Corporation THEREFORE the Council of the of the County of Elgin enacts: (1) That a rate of two and one quarter mills in the dollar be levied upon all the rateable property in the several Municipalities in the County of Elgin as equalized for the year 1892 to raise the fOllowing amounts (2) That the sum of three thousand one hundred and twenty-five dollars be raised and levied in the several Township Municipalities in the County for Common Schools being an amount equivalent to the Government Grant. (3) That the sum of thirty-seven thousand five hundred and thirty dollars be raised and levied in the sev- eral Municipalities in the County according to the following schedule and that the amounts as entered therein be paid over to the County Treasurer as by law required.
