AND IT IS enacted that this By-Law shall be in
and to be effect from and after the passing thereof
·
BE IT THEREFORE enacted by the County Council of
the County of Elgin under the authority of the Municipal Act
that the Warden be· and is hereby authorized to appoint an
arbitrator to determine the amount to be paid by the said
City of St. Thomas to the County of Elgin during the next
five years, for the Administration of Justice, use of Goal
and Court House expenses of Registry Office etc

AND \1/HEREAS these committees have been unable to
agree as to the amount to be paid, it is therefore deemed
expedient to authorize the Warden to appoint an arbitrator
on behalf of this County to act with a person to be appointed
by the City of St. Thomas to determine the amount to be paid
by the said City to the County during the next five years for
the said expenses of the Administration of Justice etc

AND WHEREAS committees have been appointed by both
Municipalities with power to determine the basis of and ac-
count to be paid during the next five years
·
c~rEREAS the agreement entered into between the
County of Elgin and City of St. Thomas in reference to the
payment of Administration of Justice and other expenses,
expired on the 31st day of December 1893.
