523 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 523 "TO APPOINT A JANITOR TO TAKE CARE OF COURT HOUSE AND ALL ROŒMS AND OFFICES CONNECTED THEREWITH". Passed 7th June 1894. BE IT enacted by the County Council of the County of Elgin I That John Hopkins be and is hereby appointed Janitor and Caretaker of the Court House and of all rooms and offices connected therewith. II That the duties of such Caretaker shall be as follows: 1. To sweep and qust all offices once during each day and to keep all other rooms, stairways, windows etc. swept, clean and in good order. 2. To see that the water closets in connection wi th the Court House are' ·kept clean and to flush them at least once a week. 3. To take care of the flag and to hoist it when- ever requested to do so. 4. To perform such other work and make such repairs as may be required of him by this Council the gaol committee, the County Clerk or Engineer. 5· That in addition to the offices in the Court House the Caretaker is hereby required to take care of the offices of Mr. D. McLaws, Clerk of the County Council. III That the salary of the Caretaker hereby appointed be and is hereby fixed at the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars per annum payable quarterly. IV That By-Laws No. 431 and 478 be and the same are hereby repealed. V That this By-Law be in force and take effect from and after the date of the passing thereof.
