587 · · COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 587 TO FIX THE SALARY OF THE CLERK OF THE COUNTY OF ELGIN, AND AMEND BY-LAWS 368 and 458". Passed 1st December 1898 The County Council of the County of Elgin enacts That the salary of the Clerk of the County of Elgin be and is hereby fixed at the sum of $700 per annum, payable quarterly. That in addition to performing the duties of the said office, as provided by the Statute and other By-Laws of this Council he be required to act as Secretary for the Inspector and Committee of the Elgin House of Industry and Refuge, and that By-Laws No. 368 and 458 and are hereby amended accordingly. It is further enacted that this By-Law shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of the passing thereof. Council Chamber st.
