AMOUNTS FOR COUNTY RATES DURING THE YEAR 1900
RAISE
TO
1900
WHEREAS by Section 91 of Chapter 224 of the
Revised Statutes of Ontario, the Council of the County,
in apportioning the County Rate shall make the amount
of property returned on the Assessment Roll, as finally
equalized for the preceding year the basis upon which the
apportionment is made
Passed 15th June
AND WHEREAS, by Section 405 of Chapter 22J R.
0., the Council of a County may pass By-Laws authorizing
levying and collecting of a rate, etc.

AND WHEREAS an estimate has been made showing
that the sum of thirty-eight thousand two hundred and
fifty-seven dollars is required to be raised in the several
municipalities for the lawful purposes of the County during
the year 1900.
THEREFORE the Council of the Municipal Corpora-
tion of the County of Elgin enacts _
1. That a rate of two and one half mills in the
dollar be levied upon all the rateable property in the
several municipalities in the County of Elgin as equalized
for the year 1899 to raise the following amounts
2. That the sum of thirty-eight thousand two
hundred and fifty-seven dollars be raised and levied in
the several municipalities in the County according to the
following schedule and that the amounts as entered therein
be paid to the County Treasurer as by law required.
