624 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 624 TO AMEND BY-LAW NO 61." Passed June 8th, 1901 The Munæcipal Council of the County of Elgin enacts as follows:- That the third clause of By-Law No. 561 is hereby repealed and the following clause substituted therefor namely, Third: The Clerk of this Council for the time being is hereby authorized to issue licenses under this By- Law, with the Corporate Seal of the Council attached there- to, and deliver the same to persons applying therefor upon payment of the following fee:- To travel on foot, the sum of ten dollars. To travel with one horse or other animal thirty dollars. To travel with one span of horses or other animals forty dollars. To sailor travel with any boat, vessel or other craft seventy-five dollars. WHENEVER any hawker, petty chapman or other per- son uses more than one horse or other animal or more than one span of horses or other animals for bearing or carrying goods, wares or merchandise, as aforesaid within the said County of Elgin, he shall be required to pay for each single horse or other animal thirty dollars and for each span of horses or other animals forty dollars.
