754 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 7.54 "TO RAISE THE SUM OF TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS TO PROVIDE FOR THE COST OF BRIDGES AND REGISTRY OFFICE TO BE ERECTED IN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN DURING THE YEAR 1909, AND TO AUTH- ORIZE THE ISSUING OF DEBENTURES THEREFOR". Passed 20th November 1909 WHEREAS it is necessary to raise the sum of twenty thousand dollars for the purpose of providing fOJr the cost of bridges and Registry Office to be erected in the County of Elgin during the year 1909, and in order thereto it will be necessary to issue debentures for the municipalities of the County of Elgin, for the sum of twenty thousand dollars payable as hereinafter provided. AND WHEREAS it will be requisite to raise the sum of two thousand and five hundred and ninety dollars and nine cents each year respectively. AND WHEREAS the amount of the whole rateable property of the municipality, according to the last re- vised Assessment Rolls of the said Municipality amounts to twenty million, four hundred and ninety-five thousand and six hundred and four dollars. AND WHEREAS the existing debenture debt of the County of Elgin is $ .53,.581.23. Therefor the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin enacts as follows:- 1. It shall be lawful for the Warden of the said County of Elgin, for the purpose aforesaid to borrow the sum of twenty thousand dollars and to issue debentures of said Municipality to the amount of twenty thousand dollars in sums of not less than one hundred dollars each, payable on the first day of December in each year with interest at I~ the rate per centum per annum during the period of ten years from the date of issuing of the debentures in the manner and for the amounts set forth in the schedule here- inafter contained. 2. It shall be lawful for the Warden of the said Municipality and he is hereby authorized to sign and issue the debentures hereby authorized to be issued, and to cause (Cont'd) By-Law No 754 Page 2 the same and the interest coupons attached thereto to be signed by the Treasurer of the said Municipality, and the Clerk of the said Municipality is hereby authorized and instructed to attach the Seal of the said Municipality to the said debentures. 3. There shall be raised and levied in each year the sum of two thousand, five hundred and ninety dollars and nine cents by special rate on all rateable property in the said Municipality said amount being sufficient to dis- charge the several installments of principal and interest accruing due on the said debt, as the same become respec- tivcly payable according to the following schedule:- S C H E D U L E .
