By-Law No. 775
TO AUTHORIZE THE WARDEN TO SIGN AGREEMENT"
WHEREAS under the provisions of the Public Schools
Act, a school inspection district composed of the City of St.
Thomas and the Townships of Aldborough and Dunwich and the
Villages of Port Stanley, Dutton, West Lome and Rodney has
been formed.
AND WHEREAS John A. Taylor, B. A. has been
appointed Inspector of Public Schools for the said district.
AND WHEREAS the Board of Education of the City of
St. Thomas and the Education Committee of the County of Elgin
have arrived at an agreement for the payment of the salary and
travelling and other expenses of .the said Inspector.
THEREFORE the County Council of the County of
Elgin enacts that the Warden be and is hereby authorized to
sign said agreement, which is to be attached to and form a
part of this By-Law.

THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE CITY OF ST. THOMAS
OF THE FIRST PART
BETWEEN
and
THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ELGIN
OF THE SECOND PART
WHEREAS special Committees of the above named
Corporations were appointed to confer with each other in
regard to the appointment of an Inspector of Schools for
district number one of the said County of Elgin and for the
payment of his salary, travelling and other expenses:

AND WHEREAS the said Committees have arrived at
an agreement in respect of the matters hereinbefore mention-
ed and have recommended that such agreement be entered into
by and between the said parties
AND W}fEREAS the said parties have considered the
said proposed agreement and have approved of the provisions
thereof which are hereinafter fully and particularly set
forth and they have decided to ratify the same
NOW T}ŒREFORE this agreement witnesseth that the
said parties hereto have mutually covenanted, promised and
agreed the one with the other in the manner and form follow-
ing, namely -
1. That the said City of St. Thomas shall form part
of the said inspectorate district which includes the
Townships of Aldborough and Dunwich and the Incorporated
Villages of Port Stanley, Dutton, West Lorne and Rodney
in the said County of Elgin
2. That the salary of the said Inspector and his
expenses for printing, stationery, postage and other
expenses provided for by the Public Schools Act shall
be borne equally by the said parties to this agreement
but his travelling expenses while inspecting schools in
the said district outside of the said City of St. Thomas
shall be paid by the said party of the second part.

3. That the time which shall be respectively given
by the said Inspector to the inspection of the rural and
urban portions of the said district shall be proportion
to the school rooms in the said urban and rural portions
having separate registers.

In witness whereof the Chairman of the Board of
Education for the City of St. Thomas has set his hand and
affixed the Corporate Seal thereof hereto and the Warden. of
the said County of Elgin has set his hand and affixed the
Corporate Seal of the said County hereto the day and year
first above written.
