"TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A GRAVEL PIT."
Passed the 28th May 1918
The County Council of the County of Elgin enacts:
1. That the Corporation of the County of Elgin
purchase the north half of lot number two, in the fourth
concession of the Township of Yarmouth, the proper~YDof
Samuel Hathaway, for the purpose of a County Gravel Pit, at
and for the sum of eleven thousand dollars and that the
Warden be authorized to execute and affix the corporation
seal to a mortgage on said lands for a term of ten years for
the said amount with interest at the rate of six percent per
annum, payable half yearly, The principal of said mortgage
to be repayable in sums of five hundred dollars or more at
the end of any year after the fifth year.
2. That the Warden be authorized to execute an
agreement and affix the corporation seal thereto, providing
for the purchase of the gravel on part of the north half of
lot number four, in the fourth concession of the Township
of Yarmouth, containing about fifteen acres, the property of
Mitchell Hepburn, at a purchase price of five hundred dol-
lars per acre, as required.
