A By-law to provide for the total expenditllre on the system

by Order-in-Counoil, during the year 1~2.

WHEREAS The Highway Improvement~Aot, Chapter.56, R.S.C., 1937,
and amendments, reqllires that the total expenditure on county roads
and bridges be provided for aWlually by oounty By-law.
THEREFORE the oOllnoil of the corporation of the said County of

raised by levy, debentures and government subsidy, for expen~iture

~ ' (2) The sum of $. .~".~~.is hereby appropriated from monies
raised by levy and government subsidY far expenditure upon maintenance
and repair of the roads in the said system during the year 19~
(3) The said monies shall be expended under the direction of the
duly appointed county road superintendent and on work performed in
accordanoe with the last revised regulations respeoting county roads
issued by the Department of Highways of Ontario.
(4) The clerk shall transmit duplioate oopies of this By-law to the
Deputy Minister, Department of Highways of Ontario, for approval on or
before the 31st of January of the present year.

The Department has carefully considered your
county road appropriation by-law f'or1942 submitted for
" 128,000.00.

This is to advise you that this Department
approves of' a net maintenance expenditure of' $ 80,000.00
and also to advise you that no constrµction work is to be
undertaken in this approved expenditure.
We would ask your co-operation throughout the
coming year to see that your proposed programme of maintenance
is kept within this net expenditure,
As soon as your County Engineer's proposed
detailed programme for 1942 is available, we would ask you to
sUbmit it to the Department for definite approval bef'ore any
extensive work is commenced.
