tA...By-Law to A oint a Superintendent for Elgin Manor.1t
WHEREAS subsectionlof Section 8, of the Homes for the Aged
Act R. S. O. 1955, Chapter 30, provides that, subject to the approval
of the Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council, the Council of a municipality
that establishes and maintains a Home shall appoint a Superintendent.
THEREFOR BE IT ENACTED, and it is hereby enacted by the
Council of the County of Elgin:
THAT Mr. Ivan J. Patterson shall be, and he is hereby appointed
Superintendent of Elgin Manor.
1. That the newly appointed Superintendent whose
application for the said position on the 14th day of July, 1958, was
accepted, and who has been Acting Superintendent since the 1st day of
August, 1958; shall now take office officially effective the 1st day
of January 1959.
2. That the said Ivan J. Patterson shall be paid a salary
of $2,400.00 per annum, payable monthly, with board and lodging for
himself and family supplied by ,the County.
3. That the said Ivan J. Patterson be paid ten Gents per
mile for the use of his car on business of Elgin Manor to a limit of
300 miles per month.
4. That the said Superintendent shall carry out all duties as
required by the Regulations of Homes for the Aged Act, and such other
duties as directed by the Elgin Manor Committee.
5. That this By-Law shall come into force forthwith and
take effect upon receiving approval of the Lieutanant-Governor-in Council.
6. All By-laws inconsistent to this By-Law are hereby
repealed.
