Now therefore in consideration of the terms and conditions
contained in this Agreement, the parties hereto mutually
agree as follows:
1. The Department agrees to make a lump sum contribution
of eighteen thousand, one hundred and eighteen dollars
and forty-five cents {$18,118.45} toward the maintenance
of the said roads.
2. The Corporation agrees and hereby undertakes to indemnify
and save harmless the Department from and against all loss,
costs, expense or damage which the Department or its
officers or the public may incur, suffer or be put to by
reason of any work being done on the said roads or parts
thereof over which the Council of the Corporation has
jurisdiction or by reason of any accident, damage or injury
which may be sustained on account of such work being done
or the same being maintained or on account of the condition
of the said roads or parts thereof at any time.
3. This Agreement shall remain and continue in force until the
designation of the said roads as development roads has been
revoked.
4. This Agreement shall be effective on the date it is executed
by the Minister of Highways for Ontario.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED as a By-law of the
County of Elgin, that Mr. Hector McLean BE and the same is
hereby appointed County Assessment Commissioner pursuant to
Section 93a(l) of The Assessment Act, R.S.O. 1960, Chapter 23,
as amended, such appointment to become effective January 1, 1967
.
WIiEREAS BY VIRTUE of Section 93a(1} of the Assessment
Act, the Council of a County may, subject to the approval of
the Minister, pass a by-law appointing a County Assessment
Commissioner who shall have all the powers, duties and privi-
leges under ,this and every other Act of an assessor, and assess-
ment commissioner or a ,county assessor in respect of the county
and the to\qnships, towns and villages in the county, and who
shall be deemed for the purposes of this and every other Act to
be the assessor for each of such local municipalities.
BEING A BY-LAW of the Corporation of the County
of Elgin to provide for the appointment of a County Assess-
ment Commissioner, pursuant to Section 93a(1) of the Assess-
ment Act, R.S.O. 1960
