"Be~ By-Law to Establish a Salary Schedule for All Employees of
the County of Elgin Other than the Heads of Departments."
WHEREAS it is considered advisable to establish salary schedules
for the employees of the various Departments of the County of Elgin.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the County of
Elgin enacts that the following salary schedules be, and are hereby
adopted
..
General Foreman - Duties to supervise and control all men
equipment for all maintenance and construction under supervision of
assistant to the Engineer and the Engineers. Minimum $6,500.00 per

men and to assist the Engineers and Assistant to the Engineer in supervision

Junior Instrument Man
Qüãlifications - Grade 12 or equivalent
Duties - Surveying and d~~fting as necessary under supervision.
Increments shall be governed by ability, experience, and passing of D.H.O.
sponsored courses. Position comparable to D.H.O. Technician 3 survey.
Minimum $5,300.00 per annum; Maximum $6,100.00 per annum. Increment $200.00
per year to maximum
Male Clerk - Office Co-ordinator to assist with and when qualified
to direct others, in all phases of office work including payroll, accounts,
and bookkeeping, etc. Hours of work per week - 37!. Minimum $5,200.00 per
annum; Maximum $6,000.00 per annum. Increments $200.00 per year to maximum.

6. Sa1ar Schedule for Jail Employees
'l'IHEREAS it is anticipated that the Administration
of Justice will be the responsibility of the Province of
Ontario on, and after January 1st, 1968, no salary schedule
is included in this by-law for employees of the Elgin County
Jail, but i't is hereby provided that the schedule as laid
down in By-Law No. 1942 shall remain in effect until the
situation is clarified

7. THAT all previous By-Laws of the County of Elgin inconsistent
herewith be, and the same are hereby repealed.
8. THAT this By-Law shall become effective on December 31st, 1967,
at twelve o'clock midnight.
