¡ THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORÞ.TION OF THE COUNTY OF ELGIN

ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT Section 2 of By-Law no, 1838 be repealed andth~
following substituted therefore:
"2 Every person who becomes an employee of the
corporation on or after the 1st. day of October, 1963

shall, as a condition of his employment, become a
I member of the System on the completion of six months
I of service on a cåmtinuous full--time basis or if he is
I already a member when entering the employment of thS'
Corporation he shall resume his contributions on the
I day that he begins employment with ·the County of Elgin."

Dear Mr. Tyson,
Further to our telephone oonversation of
last week, I am enclosing herewi"t;h two oopies or County
of Ingin By-Law No. 2059 whioh amends By-Law No. 1838
"A By-Law to Authorize Partioipation in the Ontario
Munioipal Employees Retirement System."
The purpose or By-Law No. 2059 is to make it
possible for a new employee who was previously a member
of the System to begin oontributions immediately without
having to be employed for six months by the County of
81gin.
The approval of the HonourabJe '\If. Darcy
Mc~eol\g;h. MinisteJ:' of Nunioipal Affairs is respectfully
requested for this By-Law.
