"BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE WARDEN AND THE
CLERK OF THE COUNTY TO SIGN A RECOGNITION AGREE-
MENT BETWEEN THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF
ELGIN AND THE ELGIN COUNTY EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION"
WHEREAS a majority of the Road Depart-
ment employees of the Corporation of the County
of Elgin have become members of the Elgin County
Employees Association, which is a Union unaffili-
ated with any other trade union and have requested
the Corporation of the County of Elgin to bargain
with the Elgin County Employees Association as the
exclusive bargaining agent for the employees in
the bargaining unit.
AND WHEREAS a Recognition Agreement
dated, December 19th, 1973 has been prepared for
the purpose of recognxzing the Elgin County Em-
ployees Association as the bargaining agent for
the Elgin County Road Department employees and
signed on behalf of the Elgin County Employees
Association by its du~y authorized officers.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corpo-
ration of the County of Elgin enacts as follows:
THAT the Warden and the Clerk of the
County of Elgin be and are hereby authorized to
sign the said Recognition Agreement for and on
behalf of the County of Elgin.
Read a first time this 19th day of December, 1973.

.ECOGNITLON AGREEMENT
BET WEE N:
THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ELGIN
(hereinafter called the "Corporation")
OF THE FIRST PART
- and -
ELGIN COUNTY E~œLOYEES ASSOCIATION
(hereinafter called the "Union")
OF THE SECOND PART
WHEREAS a majority of the Road Department employees of thè
Corporation have become members of the Elgin County Employees
Association, which is a Union unaffiliated with any other labour
organization, be it National or Local, and have requested the
Corporation to bargain with the Elgin County Employees Association
as the exclusive bargaining agent fOr the employees in the
bargaining unit hereinafter defined;
AND WHEREAS the Elgin County Employees Association is desirous
of being recognized by the Corporation as the exclusive bargaining
agent for all hourly paid Road Department employees of the
Corporation, save and except superintendents, assistant
superintendents, persons above the rank of assistant superintendent
technicians, assistant technicians, office and clerical staff;
1 THE CORPORATION doth hereby voluntarily agree to recognize
the Union as the sole bargaining agent for all hourly paid
Road Department employees of the Corporation, save and
except superintendents, assistant superintendents, persons
above the rank of assistant superintendent, technicians,
assistant technicians, office and clerical staff.
