By-Law No. 2295
"A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE EXPROPRIATION OF LAND FOR THE
,BLRPOSE OF WIDENING AND IMPROVING COUNTY ROADS."
WBEItEAS under Section 336 of the Municipal Act,
being Chapter 284, R.S.O. 1970, the Council of every Cor-
poration may pass By-Laws for acquiring or expropriating
any land required for the purpose of the Corporation.
AND WHEREAS in the exercise of its powers and
in performa.nce of its obligations under The Public Trans-
portation and Highway Improvement Acts and other statutes,
the Corporation of the County of Elgin finds, or.may find,
that it is necessary to expropriate lands for widening,
improving, protecting from erosion, altering or diverting
the County Roads shown on schedule "A" as attached:
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Corporation of
the County of Elgin
1. That the Warden and Clerk of the County of Elgin
be, and are, authorized to sign any and all plans pertain-
ing to land expropriation for County Roads shown on Schedule
"A", and to affix thereto the Seal of the Corporation of the
County of Elgin and to register the same in the County óf
Elgin Registry Office.
2. That the Treasurer Þe, and is hereby authorized to
pay to the owners of the lands hereby expropriated, such
amounts as may Þe agreed upon as compensation for the lands
expropriated, or such compensation as may be determined Þy
arbitration under provisions of the Expropriations Act,
being Chapter 154, R.S.O. 1970.
READ a first time this 17th day of January 1974.
READ a second time this 17th day of January 1974.
READ a third time and finally passed this 17th day of January 1974.
