ta.ken in 1975 shall be deemed to have been earned by
virtue of work performed in 1974. Subsequent year's
vacation entitlement sh<'lll be earned in the year prior
to it being taken - e.g. 1975 will be for 1976's va.c1ition.

Regular full-time employees on the payroll on September 1,
197:3 who have completed three (3) years' but less tha.n

September 1, 1973, shall continue to be covered by the
Employer's present policy in relation to sick pay benefits
on termination of employment.

Where an employee having more tha.n five (5) years' con-
secuti ve service cea.ses to be employed by the County,
there shall be paid to him or to his personal represen-
tative, or fa.iling a personal representative to such
other person as the Employer may determine, an amount
computed on the basis of his rate of pay at the date of
leaving the employ of the County for a period equal to
fifty (50'70) per cent of the value of his sick leave
credits, but the amount shall not exceed six (6) monthS
pay

3.09
After an employee has had three periods of sick leave of
three days or less within a calendar year, the Employer
mi'\Y refuse to pay for the fourth or subsequent period of
sick leave, notwithsta.ndinq that the employee ha.s accu-
mulated sick leave to his credit. It is understood that
this provision is a.n endeë1vour to eliminate abuses of
sick leë1ve a.nd is in addition to any other disciplinary
action which the Empl!Jyer may deem fit to invoke. Where
sick leë1ve ë1bsence has been in excess of three (3) conse-
cutive döys the employee shall not be pöid sick leave
crédits unless he furnishc0s the Heöd of his or her
Department vd th a Doctor's certifica.te or other explana-
tions satisfactory to the Employer.

the Employer the difference in pay between the Jury Duty
