"BEING A BY -LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF A MEMORANDUM
OF j\.GREEMENT BET\r'lEEN THE CORPORP}TION OF THE COUNTY OF ~~2IN
AND THE TERRACE LODGE EMPLOYEE ASSOCIATION."
WHEREAS the Corporation of the County of Elgin and
the Terrace Lodge Employee Association are parties to the
collective agreement dated October 26th, 1977, expiring
August 1st, 1978.
AND WHEREAS the County and the Association have met
together to amend the said collective agreement.
NOW THEREFORE it is hereby enacted that the Warden
and Clerk of the County be and are hereby empowered to sign
the Memorandum of Agreement (to be attached as Schedule A),
between the County of Elgin and the Terrace Lodge Employee
Association, amending the rates of pay and duration of the
collective agreement, dated October 26th, 1977.
READ a first time this 17th day of May, 1978.

READ a third time and finally passed this 17th day of May, 1978

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
BETWEEN:
The Corporation of the County
of Elgin (Employer)
- and -
The Terrace Lodge Employee
Association (Association)
WHEREAS, the Employer and the Association are parties to the
collective agreement dated October 26th, 1977 expiring August 1st,
1978, and
WHEREAS, the Employer and the Association have met together
to amend the said collective agreement.
NOW THEREFORE the Employer and the Association agree to
recommend to their respective principals as follows:
AlS1:ICLE 30 - JOB CLASSIFICATION AND RATES
The hourly rates shown on Schedule NAN shall be increased by.20¢ per
hour effective January 1st, 1978 for all employees, full-time and
part-time and full retroactivity for all paid hours of employment for
past employees who have terminated employment during the interim,
January 1st, 197~ to implementation. The rates shall be in effect
until December 31st, 1978 in accordance with the A.I.B. approval.
ARTICLE 32 - DURATION
Amended to read as follows:
32.01 Except as otherwise provided this Agreement shall become effec-
tive on the 1st day of August, 1977 and shall continue in force until
the 18th day of October, 1978, from year to year thereafter, unless
either party notifies the other in writing not less than thirty (30)
days and not more than ninety (90) days prior to the expiry date of
this agreement that it desires to amend or terminate this agreement.
32.02 In the event of such notification being given within the time
prescribed in Clause 32.01, negotiations between the parties shall
begin within fifteen (15) days fOllowing such notification.
