Yours truly
,
I hope this information is useful. Should you have
any questions in the future, please do not hesitate
to call me at (416) 965-6418
As you note all three official
plans in the approved. East and
West Elgins' approved by the minister
on October 4, October 5, 1976, respectively
Because the severance policies in these plans would
take precedence over any interim policies as
established by By-law No. 2376, there is no need to
maintain the interim policies. Therefore, By-law
No. 2376 should be rescinded

Attention: Mr. Grant E. Morris
Senior Planner
Official Plans Branch
Dear Sir:
On October 15th, 1975 the County of Elgin passed
By-Law No. 2376, (copy of which is attached) to adopt an
interim land severance policy for the County. Your letter of
December 16th, ~975. suggested that this by-law be repealed
as Central Elgin had their official plans approved and both
East and West Elgin had adopted plans, which were to receive
approval by Easter of 1976.
The County Government Committee recommended that
your letter be tabled and no action taken until the official
plans were approved. A copy of Mr. Johnson's letter is
attached. I find that By-Law No. 2376 is still valid and
would request your opinion whether it now should be repealed,
since both plans were approved in October 1976.
Yours truly,
~
G. C. Leverton,
Clerk-Treasurer.
