80-46 r COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 80-46 'REGULATING PARKING The Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin enacts as follows: l. DEFINITION For the purpose of this By-Law, Park or Parking, when prohibited, means the standing of a vehicle whether occupied or not except when standing tempo- rarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in the loading or unloading of merchandise or passengers. Street or Highway includes a common or public highway, street avenue, parkway, driveway, square, place, bridge, viaduct or trestle, designed and intended for, or used by, the general public for the passage of vehicles. Vehicle includes a motor vehicle, trailer, traction engine. farm tractor, roadbuilding machine and vehicle drawn, propelled or driven by any kind of power, including mùscular power, but does not include motorized snow vehicles, cars of electric or steam railways running only upon rails. 2. PARKING REGULATIONS When proper signs have been erected and are on display no person shall park a vehicle on the highways or parts of high- ways hereinafter set on Schedule "A" attached hereto. 3. PENALTIES Any person violating any of the provisions of this By-Law shall be subject to penalty of not more than Ten Dollars for the first offence and not more than Fifty Dollars for every subsequent offence, exclusive of costs, and all such penalties shall be recoverable under the Ontario Summary Convictions Act READ a first time this 19th day of November, 1980. County Road #27 is the road allowance between Concessions 3 and 4 in the Township of Yarmouth 2. When proper signs have been erected and are on display, no person shall park a vehicle on the highway or part of the highway known as: (a) County Road #27 - from a point 97 metres west of the line between Lots 19 and 20, Concession 4, being the east l~mit of the Quaker Cemetery, easterly for 200 metres, on the north side of County Road #27. (b) County Road #27 - from a point 302 metres east of the line between Lots 18 and 19, Concession 3, easterly for '155 metres on the south side of County Road #27 ~
