By-Law No. 81"-39
~BEING A BY-~~W TO AMEND ~Y-LAW NO. 80-43, A BY-LAW TO REGULATE THE
PROCEEDINGS IN THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY

OF ELGIN AND THE OFFICERS AND COMMITTEES THEREOF."
WHEREAS By-Law No. 80-43 regulates the proceedings in County
Council and Committees thereof; and
WHEREAS a review of this by-law indicates that certain sec-
tions should be deleted or amended.
THEREFORE the following be amended or deleted from By-Law
No. 80-43:
1. Section I, Paragraph 2 - delete
2. Section II, Paragraph 6 - delete
Section II, Paragraph 15 - amend this paragraph by adding
the following sentence -
"All. members present during a division must
vote."
Section II, Paragraph 17 - delete
3 . Section III, Paragraph 14 - delete
4. Section VIII, Paragraph l(a) - delete
Section VIII, Paragraphl(b) - delete the first word
"he" and replace with the words "The
Chairman".
S. Section XIII, Paragraph 5 - delete and replace with _
"(5) To study and make recommendations
with respect to industrial, recreational
and planning matters."
6. Section XVI, Paragraph 1 - delete the words _
"The Warden shall be considered as one of
the voting members."
Section XVI, Paragraph 2- delete the present wording
and replace with the following -
"2. It shall be the duty of the County
Roads Committee to co-operate with and
direct the County Road Superintendent in
the construction and maintenance of county
roads and bridges. The disbursement of all
moneys pertaining to the county road system
shall be made by the County Treasurer, only
on the certificate of the County Road
Superintendent, approved by the County
Roads Committee, as certified under the
hand of the Chairman thereof."
READ a first time this 9th day of September, 1981.
READ a second time this 9th day of September, 1981.
READ a third time and finally passed this 9th day of September, 1981.
