82-20 r~r COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 82-20 ~EINQ~_lIX::M.!:L TO_~MEND2X::LAWS -EO. 8l-~1~ND_-ª 1-42 TO ALTER THE P!{ESENT PROVISIONS FOR JURY DUTY." --'--'----'.....--...--...~---.,.......~--'-'~~-'-'----._--'-'-'--'-'- WHEREAS Section 7, entitled "Jury Duty" of By-Law No. 81-41 and By-Law No. 81-42 presently define provisions for the difference in regular pay and Jury Duty pay claimed; and WHEREAS it is deemed necessary that changes be made in the provision. NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corpora- tion of the County of Elgin enacts as follows: 1. That Section 7, entitled "JURY DUTY" of By-Laws No. 81-41 and 81-42 be deleted and the following substituted therefore: 7. JURY.L~IT~ES§ DU1:X 7.01 An Employee serving as a Juror or who has been subpoenaed as a Crown Witness shall receive the difference between his or her Jury or Witness pay and his or her regular pay for the lost time while serving in one of those capacities. A subpoena or legal notice for such duty will be provided to the Employer in such an instance of Jury or Witness Duty. The Employee shall provide the Employer proof of hours engaged on Jury Duty or as a Witness and proof of payment therefore. READ a first time this 29th day of March, 1982.
