"BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE WARDEN AND CLERK TO SIGN A
LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF ELGIN AND THE
CANADIAN UNION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES."
WHEREAS the Elgin County Library has received finan-
cial assistance from the Ministry of Citizenship and Culture,
along with other libraries, for the purpose of building a
machine readable database; and
WHEREAS the name of this project is the IIOntario
Library Cooperative Automation Project"; and
WHEREAS under the project persons will be employed by
way of the Job Development Grant as arranged through the
Ontario Library Consortium.
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corpora-
tion of the County of Elgin enacts as follows:
1. That the Warden and Clerk are hereby authorizeQ to
sign a Letter of Understanding (attached as Appendix "All )
between the County and the Canadian Union of Public Employees
with respect to persons employed by way of the Job Development
Grant arranged for the Elgin County Library.
