88-49 "c ,., ,fPt.' ., COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 88-49 "A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE EXPENDITURE OF MONIES TO REPLACE THE MIDDLEMISS BRIDGE. n WHEREAS the Middlemiss Bridge which spans the Thames River, jointly maintained by the Counties of Elgin and Middlesex is in very poor condition and requires replacing; and WHEREAS it is planned on call,Jng tenders in the fall of 1988 and have the work completed durihg 1988 and 1989; and WHEREAS the cost of doing the work has been estimated at 3.1 Million Dollars which will be subsidized by the Ministry of Transportation at 80% and the balance of the cost will be divided evenly between Elgin and Middlesex Counties as follows: ELGIN MIDDLESEX MINISTRY TOTAL 1988 $ 10,000 $ 10,000 $ 80,000 $ 100,000 1989 150,000 150,000 1,200,000 1,500,000 1990 150,000 150,000 1,200,000 1,500,000 $310,000 $310,000 $2,480,000 $3,100,000 and; WHEREAS the expenditure for the County of Elgin extends beyond the term of the current Council and will be provided in the budgets for the years 1989 and 1990. NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin hereby authorizes the expenditure of the above funds, to replace the Middlemiss Bridge, subject to the approval of the Ontario Municipal Board.
