COUNTY OF ELGIN

"BEING A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW NO. 84-10 BEING A BY -LAW TO
PROVIDE FRINGE BENEFITS TO ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE COUNTY OF ELGIN
WHO ARE NOT COVERED BY A COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT OR INCLUDED IN THE
MANAGEMENT CATEGORY. "
WHEREAS By-Law No. 84-10 sets out various fringe
benefits provided for employees not in the management category or
covered by a collective agreement; and
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to alter some of the
provisions of the benefits.
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation
of the County of Elgin enacts as follows:
1. That the "HEALTH AND WELFARE" Section, Paragraph 6, be
amended by deleting -
(a) Section 6.03 and replacing with the following -
6.03 Extended Health Care (E.H.C. )
The Employer agrees to pay one hundred percent (100%)
of the billing rate of the Ontario Blue Cross Extended
Health Care coverage ($10.00-$20.00 deductible), Vision
Care rider of $150.00 maximum every twenty-four months
and a Hearing Aid rider of $300.00 maximum per lifetime.
(b) Section 6.07 and replacing with the following -
6.07 Life Insurance
The Employer agrees to pay one hundred percent (100%)
of the premium of term life insurance, equal to two
hundred percent (200%) of the employee's annual salary,
as of December 31st of the previous year, based on the
County pay schedules (rounded to the next highest
$1,000.00 if not already a multiple thereof) to a
maximum of $150,000.00.
2. That the 11 Employee u Section, Paragraph 8, be amended by
adding:
8.04 Benefits for all employees will commence on the 1st
day of the month after the date of hire, except where a
carrier has a specific waiting period.
3. That this By-Law shall become effective July 1st, 1990
READ a first time this 20th day of June, 1990.
READ a second time this 20th day of June, 1990.
READ a third time and finally passed this 20th day of June, 1990
