90-52 COUNTY OF ELGIN BY-Law No. 90-52 "BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE ACQUISITION OF A COMPUTER SYSTEM." WHEREAS it has been deemed advisable to investigate the purchase of a computer system for all departments of the County; and WHEREAS a Committee was formed to consider proposals for supplying hardware, software, training for staff, etc. , from various vendors; and WHEREAS demonstrations by the various firms were held and personal visits to present users of the equipment were made by the Committee; and WHEREAS the choice of one supplier has been agreed upon, namely, HARRIS COMPUTER SYSTEMS. NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin enacts as follows: 1. That the Computer Committee be empowered to negotiate with the firm of HARRIS COMPUTER SYSTEMS to provide hardware, software, training, etc. I for all departments of the County. 2. That the Warden and the Clerk be empowered to sign the necessary documents to purchase a computer system, complete with training, etc. I from HARRIS COMPUTER SYSTEMS at a price not to exceed $160,000.00, exclusive of Provincial Sales Tax.
