By-Law No. 95-'H
"BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE WARDEN AND THE COUNTY
ADMINISTRATOR/CLERK TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
TOWNSHIP OF YARMOUTH AND THE COUNTY OF ELGIN FOR TREATMENT OF
SANITARY SEWAGE"
WHEREAS the st. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital, maintained
and operated by the Province of Ontario, disposes of sanitary sewage
generated from the Elgin County Administration Building, through the
storage and pumping facilities of the Hospital to the City of st.
Thomas treatment facilities; and
WHEREAS the Township of Yarmouth, by agreement with the
city of st. Thomas, is provided limited sewage treatment capacity;
and
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to enter into an agreement
with the Township of Yarmouth that, in the eVént the Province of
ontario ceases to operate and maintain or changes their existing
sewage disposal system which the County of Elgin now utilizes, the
Township will provide a portion of their sewage treatment capacity
to the County for its use for a fair and reasonable compensation.
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of
the County of Elgin enacts as follows:
1. That the Warden and the County Administrator/Clerk are
authorized to sign an agreement with the Township of Yarmouth for
the treatment of Sanitary Sewage under certain terms and conditions.
