BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE WARDEN AND THE COUNTY
"
ADMINISTRATOR/CLERK TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CORPORATION
OF THE COUNTY OF ELGIN AND VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN, SERVICES ELGIN

COUNTY"
WHEREAS the Violence Against Women, Services Elgin County operate a facility,
to accommodate Women and their Offspring, who require the necessities of life, including
shelter in the routines of daily living, due to the breakdown of the Family Home and
relationship therein; and
WHEREAS the County has agreed to reimburse the Violence Against Women,
Services Elgin County, for persons originating from residency within the County of Elgin. for
the year 1997, for an amount not to exceed $20,000.00; and
WHEREAS the terms under which this purchase of service is to be provided are to
be outlined in agreement form and are to be subject to the approval of the Ministry of
Community and Social Services for subsidy purposes.
NOW THEREFORE, upon recommendation of its Homes and Social Services
Committee, the Warden and the Administrator/Clerk are hereby authorized to sign an
agreement to purchase the services of "Violence Against Women, Services Elgin County" for
the period January 1,1997 to December 31.1997.
