96-6 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 96-6 "BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE EXECUTION OF A COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CORPORATION OF THE COUNTY OF ELGIN AND THE CANADIAN UNION OF PUBLIC EMPLOYEES WITH RESPECT TO THE CORPORATION'S ROAD EMPLOYEES" WHEREAS the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 3806, is the sole bargaining agent for all employees of the Roads Department, other than management and clerical; and WHEREAS negotiations have taken place, between the County and the Union, towards establishing orderly collective bargaining relations and providing an orderly procedure for the disposition of grievances and defining working conditions and terms of employment for all employees who are represented by the Union, in the form of a collective agreement; and WHEREAS agreement has now been reached by both parties on the said procedures, conditions and terms of employment to be included in an agreement to cover the period January 1st, 1994 to March 31st, 1996. NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin enacts as follows: 1. That the Warden and the Administrator/Clerk of the County of Elgin be and are hereby authorized to sign the Collective Agree- ment between the County of Elgin and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 3806, setting forth collective bargaining rela- tions, disposition of grievances and to define working conditions and terms of employment for Road employees. READ a first and second time this 22nd day of February, 1996. READ a third time and finally passed this 22nd day of February, 1996
