By-Law No. 98-20
BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE SPEED LIMITS'
..
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 128, Subsection 2, of the Highway Traffic Act,
being Chapter H.8, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, the council of a municipality may by by-law
prescribe a different rate of speed for motor vehicles driven on a highway or portion of a
highway under its jurisdiction than is prescribed in Section 128, Subsection 1 (a); and
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient that the speed limit for motor vehicles on
certain highways in the County of Elgin be different from the rate as set out in Subsection
1(a).

NOW THEREFORE
Elgin enacts as follows
1 That when any highway or portion of highway set out in Schedule "A",
appended hereto, is marked in compliance with the regulations under the Highway Traffic
Act the maximum rate of speed thereon shall be the rate of speed prescribed in the
Schedule.

MAXIMUM RATE OF SPEED 60 KILOMETRES PER HOUR'
County Road #35 - Being the road allowance between Lots 73 and 74, Concession
South of Talbot Road, in the Municipality of Central Elgin and the Township of
Malahide, from Highway #3 southerly a distance of approximately of 1,000 metres.

County Road #35 - Being the road allowance between Lot 28, Concessions 6 and
7, in the Municipality of Central Elgin and the Lot 74 Gore Concession, Lot 1,
Concession 5, in the Township of Malahide, from the north limit of Southdale Line
northerly a distance of approximately 600 metres and from the north limit of
Southdale Line southerly a distance of approximately 600 metres.
