04-04 COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No, 04-04 BEING A BY-LAW TO ESTABLISH A RATE TO BE PAID FOR PERSONAL VEHICLES USED FOR COUNTY BUSINESS AND TO REPEAL BY-LAW NO. 02-36' WHEREAS Section 283(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.25, authorizes a council to pay any part of expenses of members of council and of the officers and employees of the municipality as are actually incurred as a result of their acting in their capacity as members of council or officers or employees of the municipal corporation, or for the payment in lieu of expenses actually incurred, a reasonable estimate in the opinion of the council of the actual expenses that would be incurred; and WHEREAS By-Law No. 02-36 established a reasonable rate to be paid for use of personal vehicles for County business; and advisable to amend said rate NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin enacts as follows it WHEREAS Council has deemed 1. That members of Council, officers, employees, appointees to the Land Division Committee, appointees to other boards and any other persons, who use their personal vehicle for County business, shall be reimbursed at the following rate $.40 per kilo metre 2004. 1st, That By-Law No. 02-36 be and the same is hereby repealed That this by-law come Into force and take effect on January 2 3 and second time this 9th day of March 2004. this 9th day of March 2004.
