COUNTY COUNCIL
Tuesday, December 7, 2004
The Elgin County Council met this evening at 7:00 P.M., in a Special County Council
meeting to discuss the Canada-Ontario Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (COMRIF),
with all members present.
Warden Rock in the Chair.
DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND THE GENERAL NATURE THEREOF-
none.

Seconded by Councillor Mcintyre
THAT we do now move into Committee Of The Whole Council.

REPORTS
Canada Ontario Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund - COMRIF
The Director of Engineering Service presented the highlights of options for Council's
consideration. Council considered the pros and cons of the options, recognizing the risks
associated with each.

Seconded by Councillor Mcintyre
THAT the rehabilitation of Sunset Road from the City of St. Thomas southerly to Bridge
Street in Port Stanley is the County of Elgin's highest infrastructure priority; and also,
THAT staff complete and submit an application to the COMRIF program requesting
funding for the County of Elgin's highest infrastructure priority; and also,
THAT staff petition the Municipality of Central Elgin for legal drainage outlets on Sunset
Road under the Drainage Act; and also,
THAT a letter be forwarded to Steve Peters, M.P.P. and Joe Preston, M.P. for London-
Middlesex-Elgin, thanking them for supporting this program and assisting municipalities
with infrastructure needs.

THAT By-Law No. 04-29 be read a third time and finally passed.
