reduced to $5M from $1 OM with the agreement of the County insurer, and he would meet
with representatives from Presstran later today to finalize any concerns. The Chief
Administrative Officer noted that staff would appreciate having some latitude in the
negotiations providing the County's interests were maintained.

Councillor Wilson handed out a copy of the brief presented by himself, on behalf of the
Ontario Mayors for the Future of Agriculture, to the Honourable Chuck Strahl, Federal
Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and highlighted remarks he made at the
meeting. Councillor Wilson indicated he had recently attended a meeting of the Elgin
Federation of Agriculture, to speak about the issues being dealt with by the Rural
Initiatives Committee and the Ontario Mayors for the Future of Agriculture.

Councillor Hofhuis advised that she had been approached by a Lower-Tier road employee
who is nearing retirement, that there should be recognition for combined total years of
service at both the County level and at the Lower-Tier level. This matter was referred to
the Management Team for discussion
