SUBJECT: COURT OF REVISION – ALDRED-PODEBRY DRAIN

Grieve, Dutton/Dunwich.
RES. NO. 1 Moved by Van Brink
Seconded by Balint
RESOLVED that the Court of Revision for the Aldred-Podebry
Municipal Drain be convened.
DISPOSITION: Carried
The Clerk informed those present that no appeals had been received.
The Engineer reported on the assessment of this drain project, and asked if there
were any verbal appeals on this drain.
Mr. Grieve stated that he had some questions on the drain assessment.

RESOLVED that the court will accept the verbal appeal from Roy
Grieve.
DISPOSITION: Carried
Mr. Grieve questioned why he was assessed when he only owned a very small
parcel of land. Dennis explained that due to the cut-off benefit he would receive,
he was assessed. Roy then went on to say that it wasn’t his problem so why
should he be assessed. The Engineer explained that the new drain would provide
better drainage and outlets for the properties in the area, and Mr. Grieve’s portion
of $475.00 is only 1% of the whole project.
Mr. Van Brink explained that this would be a much easier way of solving any
water problems, in the event that his current drain from 1927 failed.

RESOLVED that the assessment on the Aldred-Podebry Drain be
confirmed as per the Engineer’s Report.
DISPOSITION: Carried
RES. NO. 4 Moved by Van Brink
Seconded by Balint
RESOLVED that there being no further business, the Court of
Revision for the Aldred-Podebry Drain is hereby adjourned.
