MUNICIPALITY OF WEST ELGIN COUNCIL CHAMBERS
PRESENT: Deputy Mayor Graham Warwick, Mike Mooser, Brad Bandeen.
Clerk Linda Cranston, Administrator Groch, Sam Kirschner, Jack
Falkins.
Deputy Mayor Graham Warwick called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. The
minutes of April 2001 were reviewed.
Councillor Mooser advised that he had been contacted in regard to nails in the
roadway going into the landfill site, causing a lot of flat tires. Sam was requested
to scrape the area where the shingles are dumped.
Councillor Mooser and Administrator Groch left the meeting at this time.
The Certificate of Approval was looked at, and it appears that we have at least 20
or more years of capacity. Areas of concern were discussed.
Deputy Warwick reported that the Council would make a site visit of the landfill on

the Annual Road Tour, October 4, at which time they will decide on the signage
and other issues.
The Clerk is to make arrangements for a leaf pickup in both Rodney and West
Lorne, and advertise it.
The Clerk is to contact Ron Aubertin to get dates for the Xmas garbage pickup
and also the Xmas tree pickup, and arrange the advertising.
The Clerk is to contact Darlene and Jack Falkins regarding any changes to the
recycling brochures and arrange to have a new printing done.
Rick Jackson will be requested to take the grader into the landfill site and level it.
Sam reported that the recyclables will be marketed soon.
A notice will be given to the Old Boys Park (Use Clear Bags Only) and perhaps a
sign should be posted above the bin.
