This was arranged with the Fire Chief and Road Department on a temporary basis only. Council briefly discussed seasonal campgrounds and concerns with full time occupancy. Council will discuss this further at a future meeting. Councillor Balint mentioned concerns re the ambulance service and the newspaper article. Mayor Warwick noted that the ambulance service is handled through the County. Rodney has 24-hour coverage while Dutton/Dunwich has 12 hours with 12-hour standby. The rural areas have problems that the cities don’t have in the distance travelled and the lack of volume. The full-time fireman in cities can be the backup for the ambulance crews. In the rural areas we have volunteer firemen who should not be responsible for emergency response for ambulance calls. Graham will continue to bring up our rural concerns at County Council.
