May 18, 2006 Special Session M I N U T E S OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF WEST ELGIN SPECIAL SESSION MAY 18, 2006 MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Graham Warwick Councillors: Trudy Balint, Mary Bodnar, Michael Mooser STAFF PRESENT: Norma Bryant Clerk This meeting was called to advise Council on a number of outstanding planning matters. DELARATION OF PECUNIARY INTEREST: None SUBJECT: WEST LORNE COMPLEX Architectural drawings of the West Lorne Complex were presented to Council. The plans will be presented to Support Services, Kiwanis, Women’s Institute and West Lorne Horticultural groups for their review. Revision requests will then be sent to the architect. Once revised plans are returned, Council will call a meeting for the public to review. SUBJECT: BY-LAW ENFORCEMENT The Clerk presented a verbal update on the outstanding property complaints. SUBJECT: SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT The Mayor reported on the following: ? Officers have been named and incorporation is going ahead ? The Community Health Centre has charitable status. Donations for the project will be given to the CHC who in turn will issue receipts and in turn donate the money to the project. ? Alternate site for townhouse portion investigated but prefer this site for entire project due to location ? Isabella extension not required. Proceed with townhouse development on one side of Monroe Street extension as first phase; phase in townhouse development on north side. SUBJECT: CLOSED SESSION RES. NO. 1 Moved by Balint Seconded by Bodnar RESOLVED that the Council of the Municipality of West Elgin adjourn to a closed session to discuss litigation or potential litigation.
