19-35 Speed Zone Amendment COUNTY OF ELGIN By-Law No. 19-35 "TO AMEND THE SCHEDULE TO BY-LAW NO. 17-11 BEING A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE SPEED LIMITS" WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 128(2) of the Highway Traffic Act, being Chapter H.8, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, the Council of a municipality may by by-law prescribe a different rate of speed for motor vehicles driven on a highway or portion of a highway under its jurisdiction than is prescribed in Section 128(1 a); AND WHEREAS the County of Elgin did pass By-law No. 17-11 and amending By-laws No. 18-29, 19-14, 19-19, and 19-22 prescribing different rates of speed for motor vehicles on certain highways under its jurisdictions; AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to further amend said By-Law to prescribe a different rate of speed on certain highways under its jurisdiction. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin enacts as follows: 1. THAT Schedule "B" of By-law No. 17-11 setting out a maximum rate of speed of 50km/hr be and is hereby amended by adding the following: Road Section Description 40 A From 688 metres south of the south property line of County Road 45 to 408 metres south of the south property line of County Road 45. 40 B From 40 metres south of the south property line of County Road 45 to 537 metres north of the south property line of County Road 45. 2. THAT Schedule "D" be added to By-law No. 17-11 setting out the following: SCHEDULE "D" MAXIMUM RATE OF SPEED 40 KILOMETRES PER HOUR Rb-6a School Zone Maximum Speed When Flashing Zones Road Active Times During Description Days when School is in session 40 7:55 to 8:35 a.m. From 40m south of the south property limits of Calton And Line to a distance of 378m southerly. 3:15 to 3:50 p.m. 3. THAT the penalties provided in Section 128(14) of the Highway Traffic Act shall apply to offences against this by-law. 4.
