By -Law No. 20-31
"BEING A BY-LAW TO APPOINT A DEPUTY TREASURER AND A DEPUTY
TREASURER ALTERNATE FOR THE COUNTY OF
ELGIN AND TO REPEAL BY-LAW No. 09-09"
WHEREAS pursuant to Section 286 (2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.25,
as amended, a municipality may appoint a Deputy Treasurer or Deputy Treasurers who
is/are responsible for handling all of the financial affairs of the municipality on behalf of and
in the manner directed by the council of the municipality; and,
WHEREAS Council did pass By -Law No. 09-09 appointing a Deputy Treasurer and
By -Law No. 16-06 appointing a Deputy Treasurer Alternate; and,
WHEREAS it is deemed appropriate that these appointments be revised to
accurately reflect municipal operations.
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin
enacts as follows:
1. THAT Julie Gonyou be and is hereby appointed as Deputy Treasurer of the Corporation
of the County of Elgin.
2. THAT Jennifer L. Ford be and is hereby further appointed as Deputy Treasurer
(alternate) of the Corporation of the County of Elgin.
3. THAT this By -Law become effective on July 14, 2020.
4. THAT By -Law No. 09-09 is hereby repealed.
5. THAT where provisions of any other by-law are inconsistent with the provisions of this
By -Law, the provisions of this By -Law shall prevail.
READ A FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED THIS 14t" DAY OF
JULY 2020.
