The policy meets the requirements of the Minister's Directive: Long -Term Care Home COVID-19 Immunization Policy issued May 31, 2021. REPORTS OF COUNCIL, OUTSIDE BOARDS AND STAFF (continued) 9.1 Approval for Official Plan Amendment No. 20-20, Town of Aylmer Official Plan — Manager of Planning The Manager of Planning presented for Council's approval the Town of Aylmer's Official Plan Amendment No. 20. The amendments to the Aylmer Official Plan incorporate the recommendations from Aylmer's five (5) year Official Plan Review. Moved by: Councillor Giguere Seconded by: Councillor Jones RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin modifies and approves Official Plan Amendment No. 20 (5-Year Review) to the Town of Aylmer Official Plan, File No. AYOPA20-20, THAT staff be directed to provide notice of this decision in accordance with the Planning Act; and, IT BEING NOTED that upon adoption of the County's Official Plan Review and associated amendments, the Town of Aylmer initiate a housekeeping Official Plan amendment to ensure conformity with the County Official Plan. Moved by: Councillor Mennill Seconded by: Councillor Martyn RESOLVED THAT the report titled, "Avon Drive and Putnam Road Intersection Review" from the General Manager of Engineering, Planning, & Enterprise (EPE) / Deputy CAO, dated June 14, 2021 be received and filed; THAT staff be directed to proceed with a four-way stop to be installed at the intersection of Avon Drive (CR 37) and Putnam Road (CR 47) within the village of Avon; and THAT the Ontario Provincial Police be notified of the traffic study's findings so that they may deploy targeted enforcement as their resources permit. COUNCIL CORRESPONDENCE 10.1 Items for Consideration 10.1.1 Letter from MP Karen Vecchio regarding support for the 988 Crisis Line. Moved by: Councillor Martyn Seconded by: Councillor Jones WHEREAS the Federal government has passed a motion to adopt 988, a National three -digit suicide and crisis hotline; AND WHEREAS the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has increased the demand for suicide prevention services by 200 per cent; Page 7 June 22, 2021 AND WHEREAS existing suicide prevention hotlines require the user to remember a 10-digit number and go through directories or be placed on hold; AND WHEREAS in 2022 the United States will have in place a national 988 crisis hotline; AND WHEREAS the County of Elgin recognizes that it is a significant and important initiative to ensure critical barriers are removed to those in a crisis and seeking help; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the County of Elgin endorses this 988 crisis line initiative; and THAT staff be directed to send a letter indicating such support to the local MP, MPP, Federal Minister of Health, the CRTC and local area municipalities to indicate our support.
