By -Law No. 22-23
"TO AMEND THE SCHEDULE TO BY-LAW NO.20-05
BEING A CONSOLIDATED BY-LAW FOR THE REGULATION OF TRAFFIC
INCLUDING PARKING ON COUNTY ROADS"
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 210, of the Municipal Act, being Chapter M.45, R.S.O.
1990, as amended, the Council of the Corporation of the County of Elgin did pass By -Law
No. 20-05 for the regulation of traffic including parking on County Roads;
AND WHEREAS now pursuant to Section 11(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.
25, an upper -tier municipality may pass by-laws respecting matters within the spheres of
jurisdiction described in the Table to this section;
AND WHEREAS said Table authorizes an upper -tier municipality to pass by-laws
regulating parking and traffic on highways;
AND WHEREAS it was deemed necessary and appropriate to amend By -Law No. 20-05
to include a Schedule "D" to establish time -limited parking restrictions;
AND WHEREAS it was deemed necessary and appropriate to amend Schedule "D" to By -
Law No. 20-05 to limit parking to two (2) hour increments on sections of County Road #4
(Bridge Street), County Road #4 (Colborne Street) and County Road #23 (Joseph Street)
in the Village of Port Stanley;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Municipal Council of the Corporation of
the County of Elgin enacts as follows:
1. THAT By -Law No. 20-05 be and is hereby amended to include a Schedule "D" Time
Limited Parking; and
2. THAT Schedule "D" of By -Law No. 20-05 be and is hereby amended to include time
limited parking (two (2) hour limit) on the following sections:
Bridge Street (CR 4), from the west property limits of Carlow Road to the east limits
of Colborne Street, being a distance of 290 metres.
Colborne Street (CR 4), from the south limit of Bridge Street to the north limit of
Warren Street, being a distance of 1,140 metres.
Joseph Street (CR 23), from the east limits of Colborne Street to the east limits of
East Road, being a distance of 280 metres; and
3. THAT this by-law shall come into force and take effect upon the installation of
appropriate signage indicating said Time Limited Parking Zones.
READ A FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED THIS 24t" DAY OF
MAY 2022.
