QUESTIONNAIRE
Why are you interested in becoming a member/volunteer on the Terrace Lodge
Fundraising Committee?
Covid shone a light on private longterm homes and the lack of care that was provided in some. This
along with a large aging population there is clear need for facilities like Terrace Lodge. I believe in
providing a supportive spaces in which people feel safe, comfortable, and heard no matter what the
age, particularly during these challenging times. A facility like Terrace Lodge provides care and dignity
to community members who may not be in a financial position to otherwise spend their final years in
such a beautiful environment.
Briefly describe your current and past community or volunteer involvement.
I recently joined The Vienna Lions Club and will be volunteering in whatever capacity I
can to better serve my community.
Past Volunteer work includes:
-Global Vison International volunteer internship
-Embro Community Theatre (Makeup and costumes)
-Assisting Stratford Air Cadets in organizing recreational activities
0
Briefly describe skills or experience relevant to the Terrace Lodge
Redevelopment Fundraising Committee.
Growing up my parents owned and operated a retirement home for years. The standard of care was
very high, and I was always surrounded by lovely senior ladies. Raised in this environment, I developed
and awareness of the challenges related to aging. I also learned to communicate effectively and
compassionately with our residents and benefit from this lived experience today.
Before Covid I worked in live theatre doing wigs and makeup. The skills I developed were:
-working in a fast paced environment
-interpret designer and directors vision
-constant communication with varying departments to ensure a successful production and re-evaluation
of the we did and make changes as needed
What strengths will you bring to the Terrace Lodge Redevelopment Fundraising
Committee?
Passion- If I believe in something I will support it all the way
Creativity- brainstorming different or unique ideas/events to raise funds
Effective communication and team collaboration- I am a big advocate for working on a
team
Community Minded and will show up prepared and ready to help with events
